My Story

I am going to be honest from the start.  I am not a runner.  I’ve had too many knee injuries to put them under that kind of stress mile after mile.  And so, when faced with the prospect of ten whole kilometres, I have turned to the best, most intuitive way I know to be active for two hours…

Dance

Yes, I have decided to dance the Brighton 10K.  With your support (& music suggestions – see link below) I will ‘twirl’ my way across 10,000 metres to raise money for a charity so very close to my heart – FareShare Sussex & Surrey (FSSS).

I can’t remember when I first heard of the work of FSSS, but when I felt our communities and society had become too fractured, I looked to volunteer for an organisation that does its part to mend that fissure.  With an ethos of centring food as a social place while taking food waste to help address food poverty, FSSS has become a community, a workplace and focus of how we can begin to find a more caring society for me.  Wonderful!

In order to get me through, I will pace my ‘race’ according to how much support I get from…you!

If you can find it in your hearts (and pockets) to get me to £250 I will perform a short (improvised) dance every kilometre.

If we make it to £500 – at which point your donations will be generously matched by the Enjoolata Foundation – I will endeavour to dance to whole way!

IF we get to £1,000 (which, let’s face it would totally amazing) I will endeavour to dance for the whole way…in a gold unitard!  Oh yes!

Please support me to raise vital monies for the fabulous FSSS!

Because every £25 you help me raise will help to provide 100 meals for people who REALLY need it!

Thank you
